Morality

(Q&A with Mohanji)

justice

I always believed that masters should set standards in morality. Sree Krishna is said to have had 16008 wives. Jesus is accused of having an affair with Mary Magdelene.  If he did like that, can we blame regular human beings like us having more than one wife?

HA HA. I liked this question very much. What an Idea!!! What an excuse!!! Let me explain.

Fundamental Mistakes in Understanding

Understanding a higher master and his actions using our limited capabilities of understanding is like a 5th class student trying to explain the books or syllabus of graduation classes. Enlightenment = Unlimitedness. Non-Enlightenment = Limitedness.

Every thought, word and action has a time, space, intellect, environment effect. If you do not understand that aspect, you will not understand the depth of that action or any action per se.

An enlightened master may do many things for the higher good, as he is not operating from the plane of mundane karma. He is operating from the plane of universal awareness where he could see the past, present and future in one platform. He will know the action as well as the consequences, just like we see the flowers blooming outside the window. His actions will always be for the general well-being of the masses. He  has no selfish interest. So, what about a Great Master like Krishna?

In many occassions, an enlightened master may use intoxication to dull his perpetual cosmic consciousness and bring himself to terrestrial awareness or body consciousness. If a disciple, who is only in the formation stage resorts to the same technique of using intoxication, he will never achieve enlightenment and will definitely become a drug addict. He may look like a master with his beard, matted hair and saffron robes, but will be far from the stature of his master. So, imitating a master before becoming a master is extremely dangerous, if your purpose is higher evolution. If the purpose is just to make a living and fool the relatively ignorant public, good enough, the attire will benefit to a great extent.

You can follow the guidance of the master, but, never imitate him, if you have not reached his stature.

Also understand that it’s not humanly possible to entertain 16008 wives!! HA HA. Many people cannot even live with one wife. So, how can someone live with 16008 wives? Isn’t it a bit too bizarre?

Coming to Krishna. How do you know that Krishna had 16008 wives and that this is true in its true sense? My understanding is as follows:

Krishna defeated a king and freed all the prisoners. There were several women too. If you want the exact head count, we can say – 16008 women. Some of them were very very old, and had spent many years in prison.

When Krishna released the prisoners, he told them: “You are free now. Go to your own homes and live in peace. If you encounter any problems or difficulties in the future, do let me know .”

They were happy and went back to their homes. The society did not welcome them. Their families were reluctant to accept them, as they believed that an ex convict at home could give the effect of ex-communication by the society. Their children may not get good spouse etc. The ex-prisoners were ex-communicated by the society.

In short, the ladies who were prisoners once were back in the streets begging for a living and the society shut their doors on them.

They went back to Krishna, requested His audience and said: “We were prisoners once. It was not an ideal situation to be in. Yet, we were getting three meals everyday. We had a shelter from sun and rain. Now we are even more miserable. We have no place to sleep and no food. None of our family members wants us back. Please put us back into the prison and save our lives.”

Krishna ordered them to be considered as Royal Wives and ordered a pension for all of them. Royal wives have some previleges, eligibilities and respectability. He sent everyone back with these previleges and they started living happily.

Society loves successful people, even if they are ex-convicts. Money matters and reputation can be re-created. Thus, these “16008 wives of Krishna” lived a majestic life as “Royal Wives”. This earned them respect in the society and the younger ones among them got proposals from eligible bachelors for their hand in marriage!!! All their reletives who are relatively inferior to them, as per their current position, started respecting them and considering them as an integral part of their family. Thus Lord Krishna bestowed them their respect and self-esteem.

How is this? What do you think now? Krishna is being portrayed as a womaniser because every man is a womaniser atleast in his own mind, one way or the other. If the Lord represents that quality, it’s easy license for the devotees. The truth is different.I am not judging moralities here nor am I stating whether something is good or bad. This is upto the individual. There are no general thumb rules in the larger perspective. Please do ponder on this idea and see how you feel.Do not worry about Jesus and Mary Magdelene too. Jesus was mission-bound and, in a very short span of time that he had, he did his deed. Mary was his choicest disciple or devotee (on nursing and healing the karmic wounds basis) and Jesus empowered her with abilities of healing and grace. Limited minds cannot comprehend the higher love. We can only visualise carnal love, because our minds are in that peripheral. This is fine. Let’s be what we are. Then, we will be based on reality, and not on pretension. Being real is very important for higher evolution.God Bless AllLoveMohan

Anxiety

(Q&A with Mohanji)

Freedom

Anxieties are not going away. Fears are increasing. Times seem to be bad. Please help.
It is essential to understand the situation fully in order to overcome it. Walking the path, you must. I shall explain an average human existence:
A soul takes birth as a human body (in this story – as a man). His childhood is spent in blissful abandon, as a child immersed in seeking playfulness and fun. He is ignorant of his true state. He is also anxious about proving himself and being better than his friends.
Then he becomes a youth and spends most of his adolescent years in a struggle to gain recognition and position in society. Adolescence puts him in a kind of no man’s land. Neither here nor there. He struggles to carve an image and position for himself. He is also keen to have a girl of his dreams as his partner – a lot of time and energy is spent in fantasies and daydreaming. He is anxious about proving himself in every aspect of life.
As an adult, he is busy with carving a life for himself and his family. He is also immersed in earning money, educating his children, building a house for himself, securing his old age, etc. He runs all over in a struggle or race to create the life of his dreams, forgetting to enjoy the present and always being anxious about the future. As he grows older, helplessness increases and so does associated anger and frustration. He also builds up expectations about his children and if they do not fall within the frame of his expectations, he falls sick and disillusioned. Sometimes he also pampers his children too much and in turn they kick him around.

He prays to his Gods, ritualistically, offers a part of his earning to appease gods, expecting tangible favors in return. He lives in a world of dreams and expectations, in a continuous struggle and anxiety.
Old Age – he is retired. People are not respecting him as they used to, as then the respect came out of compulsion or due to his official/social position, and not due to selfless service rendered to society.

He has become insignificant, and is now simply existing in his hard won home, which is already taken over by his children. Often, he is a baby – sitter of his grand children or a temporary watchman when his children travel out. He often feels like a doormat. He is weak and helpless. He craves for his past glory and yearns for respect. He is anxious about his relatives going away and is not sure whether he will be properly attended to. Sometimes he also fears that he could be dumped into some old age home as unwanted burden. Anxieties rule him. He silently nurses his sickness too. He spends sleepless nights filled with fears and anxieties, but during the day he puts on a mask of overconfidence, rigidity and grouchyness. Whenever left alone, he secretly cries over his helplessness.
Silently, during one such night, he leaves his body. At that time, he realizes how all the ego built on the sand castle of his achievements and possessions over the years actually meant nothing. He realizes how futile everything was. He regretted that never, not for even one moment, he got connected to his own soul. He forgot everything in the struggle to create an existence, name and fame. However, it was only at the time of death that this profound realization dawned on him – the only thing that ever mattered was his own soul! The soul was in-charge. The soul was running the show. The very reason why he assumed the body was to fulfill the mission that his soul had – but he never even bothered to introspect and enquire what this mission was. All of this was a late realization as it came at the time when his soul was already leaving the body. Too late for any correction now.

This is the story of the existence of an average man. Unconscious youth, egoistic adulthood, anxious old age and the most certain death. Unfulfilled wishes and another birth in another womb. The continuous stream of birth and death. The soul carries on, without complaints.
Please be aware –
In the next 100 years even the child born today will not be existing on this Earth. It will be a completely new set of people. Many souls walked on this Earth before you, with the same feelings and emotions, many souls will walk this Earth after you, with the same feelings and emotions hat you have now. Understand your significance in these relative terms.
Now, it is time to introspect. What is worth and what is not? Observe your life from the perspective of your soul. Even when attempting to understand your relationships, see them from the perspective of the soul. All relationships are as important as relativity and are a matter of inevitability. Are you that or are you beyond that? This question must be pondered on. Nobody owns another person in any way – even though you may disagree with me on this aspect. Even if two people are married, both of them do not own each other. They came together only because their karmic vasanas (inherent traits with emotions attached) were similiar. That’s all. An individual is essentially an individual and an independant karmic being. This must be clearly understood in order to curtail expectations towards others. A person will perform upto your expectation only if your wishes and his/her karmic agendas tally perfectly well. Whether it be your parents, wife, husband, daughter or son, the same rule applies. Be aware of this.

Awareness of the macro existence will take anxieties away. Anxieties are only in the mental plane. Mind likes to hold on to fears for its own existence. At your soul level, there are no anxieties or fears. Soul has no guilt either. All this exists only in the conscious mind, as well as in your hard drive – the sub-conscious.
Good or bad times are derived out of collective consciousness. When a generation lives in fear, hatred and anger, they invite agony into their own life, one way or the other. When a generation lives in love and kindness, they create that reality. Therefore, there is no point in blaming the times. Times are created by all of us, collectively. As thought is the first level of creation, energy is released. If thoughts are negative, they conglomerate with such similiar thoughts and become an event. This is how events are formed.
We have to tackle good and bad. Have faith in yourself – your SELF, the non-perishable entity, the God that lives within the temple of your body – your very soul. Also, have faith in the supreme entity – the GOD or the Supreme Soul. This kind of faith will diminish your anxieties and fears. You cannot leave the mind in a vacuum state. It must be substituted with faith. So, start contacting your soul through your breath and slowly internalise your focus. The less you are external, the lesser your cravings will be. The lesser your anxieties will be.

Enlightenment

(Q&A with Mohanji)

Lotus

Does enlightenment mean giving up everything?
No. Enlightenment means giving in to everything in perfect equanimity. Nothing affects you anymore. Giving up is renunciation. That too, if you give up consciously, while the desire still exists in your sub-conscious, will not work. You have to exhaust your desires and evolve further. Then it will stay. No desire can be suppressed and moved forward. Circumstantial suppression is not elimination. The seeds are still there. The desire is still there. It will sprout when the right environment is created.

Enlightenment means complete giving in to the rhythm of the universe. A total tuning in. Individual gratifications get converted into existence in a bliss state which means self-sufficiency. Externalization of the senses and mind will shift to internalization. The man achieves self-sufficiency within himself. Then it’s not giving up, but dropping off. Automatically, all that is unwanted in his sub-conscious gets burnt away or dropped off and that space becomes filled with bliss of cosmic consciousness. You can also call it blissful emptiness or supreme awareness.

In short, we cannot give up anything, unless that space gets filled with something higher in nature. Karma cannot be deleted unless fully exhausted. It must wear off. Enlightened Masters can definitely dilute one’s karmic trash. But, usually, they let the disciple walk the path, experience and exhaust. Otherwise, as long as desires exist, the need for gratification never leaves the sub-conscious.
Desires should be replaced with higher awareness. This means, when you got a bicycle, you lost the interest in your toy. When you got a motor cycle, you lost interest in your bicycle. Therefore, something higher replaces the seeming lower. In the case of spirituality, EXPERIENCE SHOULD REPLACE KNOWLEDGE. Then evolution happens. The higher the experiences, more will the lower drop off. The need for doing anything ritualistically will drop off and existence in bliss will provide tremendous strength and equanimity. You will not be affected by any regular storms of life. You will stay afloat in all conditions and turbulence.
God Bless All
Love
